Neon has unveiled the first teaser for Her Private Hell.

A series of dreamy images drenched in fog and blood set to unsettling strings, the teaser promises a lush, neon-coloured horror film filled with glamorous costumes and sensational violence, revealing the first footage of Sophie Thatcher, Charles Melton, Kristine Froseth, and Havana Rose Liu.

Featuring its three female leads in glamorous costumes and a shirtless, bloodied Charles Melton in a leather jacket, the teaser also offers our first glimpse at the Leather Man killer at the centre of the narrative.

Her Private Hell will have its world premiere tonight screening out of competition at Cannes, a decade after Nicolas Winding Refn’s divisive previous feature, fashion-centred arthouse horror The Neon Demon, inspired both applause and walkouts at the film festival. The Danish auteur’s last three films (the Ryan Gosling vehicles Drive and Only God Forgives being the other two) all premiered in competition at the prestigious festival.

The official synopsis reads: “When a mysterious mist engulfs a futuristic metropolis, unleashing a deadly and elusive entity, a troubled young woman searches for her father. Her quest collides with an American GI on a harrowing odyssey to rescue his daughter from hell.” Deadline also revealed that the film begins with a storyline centred on actresses preparing to shoot a Barbarella-esque movie, while the Leather Man killer is targeting women across the city.

Her Private Hell hits theatres July 24th.
