Following the overwhelming success of internet-inspired horror films Backrooms and Obsession, Warner Bros. has won a five-studio bidding war with a multi-million-dollar deal securing the rights to Siren Head, a viral creepypasta monster with two sirens for a head.

Siren Head was created by Canadian illustrator and writer Trevor Henderson, who is also known for his work on the creature designs in the 2024 horror film Tarot. His other eerie internet creations include “Long Horse” and “Cartoon Cat”.

After Henderson shared his original image in 2018, Siren Head has spawned a wealth of internet lore and artwork where users offer their own take on the character.

Zach Cregger (Weapons) is producing while Brian Duffield (No One Will Save You) is attached to direct. Both filmmakers have genre projects releasing this year, with Cregger’s Resident Evil remake and Duffield’s survival thriller Whalefall.

Verve Talent Agency, which represents Henderson, was in charge of the rights auction. They recently handled the bidding war for Texas Chainsaw Massacre, which went to A24 earlier this year.
