Netflix has released the trailer for The Whisper Man.

The trailer for the upcoming feature adaptation of the best-selling Alex North crime thriller teases a moody, harrowing serial killer tale about a widowed writer (Adam Scott) who partners with his estranged father, a retired former police detective (Robert De Niro), to track down his missing son.

In addition to De Niro and Scott, The Whisper Man stars Michelle Monaghan (The White Lotus), Hamish Linklater (Midnight Mass), Owen Teague (It), Will Brill (Monster: The Ed Gein Story), and Acston Luca Porto (Dora and the Search for Sol Dorado).

The Whisper Man sees Adam Scott play another tortured writer this year after his turn in Irish folk horror Hokum. Director James Ashcroft (The Rule of Jenny Pen) likewise has extensive experience in the horror genre, with his next project — When Darkness Loves Us with Emilia Clarke and Victoria Pedretti — already in post-production.

Ashcroft directs from a script by Ben Jacoby (The First Omen) and Chase Palmer (It).
