Cult reality series The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula is returning to Shudder and AMC+ on October 27th, marking 10 years since its premiere on Halloween 2016.

The seventh season’s guest judges include Rose McGowan (Scream), Doug Jones (The Shape of Water), David Dastmalchian (Late Night with the Devil), Harvey Guillén (What We Do in the Shadows), and filmmaker Darren Stein (Jawbreaker). Amongst others, they are joined by Lloyd Kaufman, founder of Troma Entertainment, and previous Dragula winners Landon Cider, Dahli, and Asia Consent.

Since premiering a decade ago, The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula, hosted by Swanthula and Dracmorda Boulet, has become Shudder’s highest-performing unscripted original franchise.

“Ten years ago, we opened the gates to our world without a roadmap, a television network or any idea of how far this strange underground experiment would take us,” said the Boulet Brothers. “Today, Dragula has become an internationally recognized and Emmy-nominated franchise, but its heartbeat remains the same: fearless artists, disruptive ideas and a refusal to play it safe.”

“For season 7, we wanted to celebrate everything that has always made Dragula dangerous and different while pushing the series into its next era,” the Brothers explained. “We cast raw, hungry artists who were completely unprepared for what was waiting for them, creating a season that feels unpredictable, cinematic and alive in a way that takes us back to the beginning.” 

The season will feature some of the “craziest elimination challenges” yet, and will also pay homage to the grimy, tactile VHS horror of the 1980s and 90s through cinematic sequences celebrating some of the genre’s most iconic films.
