NEON has released the first full trailer for Hokum.

When reclusive novelist Ohm Bauman (Severance’s Adam Scott) retreats to a remote Irish inn to scatter his parents’ ashes, he becomes obsessed with the staff’s tales of a witch haunting the honeymoon suite. Soon, strange visions and a shocking disappearance force him to face the darkest corners of his past. The tense, atmospheric trailer, filled with the scenery of Southwest Ireland, follows Ohm as he drives to the Bilberry Woods hotel, meets a series of “oddball” characters, and sees a horrific face flash across a television screen.

Hokum marks the third film from indie Irish horror filmmaker Damian McCarthy, whose previous two features, Caveat and Oddity, both earned rave reviews. The director cites John Carpenter, Bong Joon-ho, and Guillermo del Toro amongst his biggest influences.

Hokum releases May 1st in US, UK, and Ireland cinemas. Watch the trailer below.
