Cult filmmaker John Waters has confirmed his involvement in American Horror Story Season 13. Speaking at a Valentine’s Day one-man show in Baltimore, Waters stated that he got permission from AHS creator Ryan Murphy to make the announcement, but “cannot say one word”, per the Baltimore Sun.

As reported by the Baltimore Fishbowl, the Hairspray writer-director said the following at his February 14th “A Date with John Waters” show:

I’m going to announce tonight something new: I can’t say what role, but I have a big new part in ‘American Horror Story’.

Waters joins a star-studded cast, with the following actors already confirmed for Season 13: Ariana Grande, Emma Roberts, Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Billie Lourd, Gabourey Sidibe, Leslie Grossman, and Jessica Lange.

The Baltimore Sun and the Baltimore Fishbowl verified the news. This follows reports circulated on social media over the weekend after an audience member at Waters’ show posted the information on Reddit.

During a Q&A segment of the Saturday show, Waters also reflected on his acting career: “I’m typecast. I’m always either the devil or Chucky’s father…I’ve always been trying to steal Vincent Price’s career. I actually prayed I would wake up and be Vincent Price.”

American Horror Story Season 13 premieres this Halloween.
