Heated Rivalry breakout star Connor Storrie has released two horror short films on YouTube under the handle “Sin Monger”: the moody black-and-white surrealist horror Coax (2024) and the absurdist horror comedy Jerry The Ginger Eater (2025), which follows a cannibal who targets redheads.
Storrie uploaded a link to Coax to his Instagram story last week. In addition to the shorts, his debut feature is in post-production. Funded by his pay from Heated Rivalry, the sci-fi film, titled Transaction Planet, follows an alien spirit that possesses a 25-year-old human (Gabe Kessler). Storrie has described the film as “early John Waters meets Pi by Darren Aronofsky meets a little bit of Sean Baker.”
As proven by Curry Barker (Obsession) and Kane Parsons (Backrooms), YouTube has emerged as a viable space for young horror filmmakers to get their work noticed. With a feature on the way, Connor Storrie may well supplement his acting career with writing and directing genre films.
Storrie recently starred in a horror-themed advertisement for Verizon. Directed by Nia DaCosta (Candyman, 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple), the four-and-a-half-minute film follows Storrie, playing himself, as he is stalked by a shadowy figure at a secluded woodland cabin.
