Only months after its release this May, Curry Barker’s indie horror phenomenon Obsession is coming to Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights Hollywood. Nikki, the role played by breakout star Inde Navarrette, will appear as a roaming character.

The quick turnaround is a testament to the film’s sensational box-office appeal, which has grossed nearly $500 million worldwide on a budget of only $750,000.

Along with Obsession’s Nikki, Art the Clown will be featured as a “Stalk-a-Round” roaming character. Portrayed by David Howard Thornton, Art is the enigmatic villain at the heart of the Terrifier franchise. Like Obsession, Damien Leone’s films have seen incredible success given their indie horror status, with Terrifier 3 securing over $90 million against a budget of $2 million.

Speaking at the Midsummer Scream horror convention, Halloween Horror Nights Creative Director John Murdy revealed that Nikki was indeed a last-minute addition and discussed how she will feature at Universal Studios’ celebrated horror event. “Nikki’s out there somewhere,” he teased. “You kind of have to get into a ‘Where’s Waldo?’ mentality. She’s out there somewhere, and she might be looking for her next obsession.”

While Nikki and Art the Clown will appear as roaming characters, Halloween Horror Nights has a stacked line-up of new haunted houses, including houses for Sinners, the original Hellraiser trilogy, Stranger Things, and Evil Dead Burn.
