Universal has released the uncanny trailer for Other Mommy, Blumhouse-Atomic Monster’s upcoming horror thriller about a young girl, Bela (Arabella Olivia Clark of The Housemaid) who develops a close relationship with a devilish entity that looks exactly like her mother (Jessica Chastain).

The trailer begins with an extended sequence of Chastain’s character making lunch for her daughter, before she starts behaving strangely and twists into a horrific shape as Bela realises that she hasn’t been talking to her mother.

Other Mommy sees Host and The Boogeyman director Rob Savage adapt the acclaimed 2024 novel Incidents Around the House by Josh Malerman. Malerman’s 2014 novel Bird Box was notably made into the hit 2018 Netflix film of the same name, starring Sandra Bullock.

With the film, Jessica Chastain returns to the horror genre following her roles in Mama and It: Chapter Two. The supporting cast includes Jay Duplass (Industry), Dichen Lachman (Severance), Arian Moayed (Succession), and Karen Allen (Raiders of the Lost Ark).
