Angus Tsui, founder and creative director of the Hong Kong-based fashion brand of the same name, has released his SS27 Collection “404: Ha Ha Haunting”. Continuing to draw from Tsui’s signature horror references, the Cenobites in Hellraiser and the xenomorphs in Alien, the collection pays tribute to 80s and 90s Hong Kong horror cinema.

“404: Ha Ha Haunting” is a direct response to Tsui’s AW26 collection, “404: Safety Not Found”. Where that work was conceived as a response to the anxieties of the digital age, “Ha Ha Haunting” has been framed as “the quiet conversation that unfolds in the aftermath— a healing dialogue that emerges in the silence”. With their leather textures, anatomical designs, and gestures to body horror, both collections take significant inspiration from Jane Wildgoose’s costumes for the sadomasochistic Cenobites in the original 1987 Hellraiser film.

"I wanted to thank horror films for inspiring my design," Tsui explains. “There's something about being in a safe space while feeling stimulated and excited - it’s a dopamine response. This collection is about that paradox: the thrill of being haunted, and the healing that comes when you finally stop running.”

The collection paired the brand’s signature “surreal future grotesque aesthetic” with another original runway score by Giac de Castro, this time a liminal, ambient soundscape evoking a “Backrooms-like Dream Core experience”.

The standout opening look is inspired by a mutated red spider lily, known as the flower of the afterlife in East Asian folklore. The striking design is paired with the brand’s signature thigh-high Exoskeleton Xeno Boots.
