Focus Features has unveiled a new trailer for Werwulf.

Grimy, gory, and drenched in menacing atmosphere, the official second trailer teases the ultra-violent spectacle of Robert Eggers’ follow-up to Nosferatu. Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Lily-Rose Depp play a couple who move to a remote medieval village plagued by wolf attacks, while Willem Dafoe stars as a local hunter.

The trailer reveals more of longtime Robert Eggers collaborator Jarin Blaschke’s moody, striking cinematography. Speaking with Phantasmag in pre-production last year, the DP teased that the film’s “grim and brutal” cinematography doesn’t “look like anything [he’s] seen this decade.”

The new footage follows this week’s news that Robert Eggers will direct an adaptation of Romeo and Juliet as his next project after Werwulf. “I was writing another horror movie, and it got so dark again,” he said at Beyond Fest. “I was like, I need a break, so I’ll do something about two teenagers killing themselves.”
