Creep director Patrick Brice is lining up a buzzy psychosexual horror project titled Violet, with Lili Reinhart (The Love Hypothesis), Danny Ramirez (Captain America: Brave New World), Suki Waterhouse (Daisy Jones & The Six), and Lukas Gage (Companion) starring alongside Brice’s Creep lead, Mark Duplass.

Nick Antosca (Cape Fear, Verity) is reuniting with his Brand New Cherry Flavor collaborator Alana B. Lytle (Something Very Bad is Going to Happen) to pen the script, adapting Antosca’s short story “Ghostfish”.

Violet follows Sean (Ramirez), who has found love with his childhood friend Kate (Reinhart) after the death of his titular fiancée (Waterhouse). But when the happy couple move into the home Sean once shared with Violet, he starts receiving unsettling text messages from someone claiming to be his dead ex. The synopsis concludes: “In an age of constant connectivity— where every text, photo, and digital footprint lingers forever— do exes ever really let you go?”

With production slated for spring 2027, Violet will see Lili Reinhart return to the horror genre after her standout villainous turn in the Diablo Cody-produced witchy comedy Forbidden Fruits. It also marks another genre flick for Lukas Gage, who starred in Smile 2 and Companion.

FilmNation Entertainment will launch domestic and international sales at the AFM, while SK Global and Generator Entertainment are producing and financing the film.
