Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas is getting a high-end fashion collection.
For the holiday season, Loewe is teaming up with Burton and Disney to celebrate The Nightmare Before Christmas. Launching November 12th, the new capsule collection will feature bags, accessories, ready-to-wear, scented candles, and leather goods.
Items teased include a handbag with a Jack Skellington drawing on the inner lining and a crochet “Wolfman” as a key chain, along with a woven orange and black leather bucket bag with protruding snakes.
The collection follows Loewe’s collaboration with Studio Ghibli, after the Spanish luxury house launched three capsule collections, inspired by My Neighbour Totoro, Spirited Away, and Howl’s Moving Castle, respectively. As with the Ghibli collaborations, LOEWE credits its partnership with Burton to a mutual appreciation for handcrafted art.

A modest sleeper hit at the box office in 1993, The Nightmare Before Christmas gradually developed a following after proving immensely popular on home video. Today, it is regarded as a Christmas classic, one of the greatest stop-motion films of all time, and one of Burton’s finest works. It is a common misconception that Burton directed the film — instead, Henry Selick was at the helm while the Edward Scissorhands filmmaker wrote the original poem that inspired the film, which he also produced.
In line with the release of the collection, Burton spoke with Vanity Fair about the rise of artificial intelligence and the value of handmade art. “I love [stop motion] because it’s all handmade,” he said. “When you see the puppets and the sets, you wish everybody could experience the tactile nature of what goes into making a stop-motion film, or any film.” He added that the more commonplace AI becomes, “the more [he appreciates the human] side of it.”
Burton recently wrapped filming on Season 3 of Netflix’s hit Addams Family spinoff series Wednesday, on which he is an executive producer and the go-to director. It was also announced last month that he has been working with Never Let Me Go author Kazuo Ishiguro on a secretive project taking place in post-World War II Japan.
