Bleecker Street has unveiled a new poster for The Third Parent, a chilling new creepypasta adaptation reimagining the infamous story posted on the r/nosleep subreddit.

The film follows a Fourth of July celebration disrupted by a mysterious figure named Tommy Taffy (Crispin Glover), who looks to terrorise an unsuspecting family (Rob Lowe, Roselyn Sánchez, and Rafael de Beligny) and impose authoritarian rule over them.

Depicting Egyptian Hieroglyphs from 1500 BC, the new poster teases the ancient reign of terror of the titular villain, alluding to one of the many families that have fallen victim to him throughout history. The teaser trailer featured eerie children’s drawings and photographs from York, England (1870), Modena, Italy (1949), and other locations.

The Third Parent is part of a recent wave of films like Backrooms that look to internet horror IP for inspiration. Prominent filmmakers like Steven Spielberg and Weapons writer-director Zach Cregger are getting involved in upcoming creepypasta adaptations.

The Third Parent opens in US theatres January 22nd, 2027. See the poster below.
