Speaking to Phantasmag on the opening night of her debut tour in Dublin, Addison Rae revealed her favourite horror films. “I’m not really a fan of horror movies because I get scared really easily, but Thanksgiving is my favourite.”

To pick Eli Roth’s 2023 slasher, in which she had a starring role, is certainly a playfully on-brand choice for the singer and actress. “I also liked Insidious,” she added after pausing to reflect. “But that was so scary for me.”

Despite her successful music career, characterised by an impressive transition from viral TikTok sensation to fully-fledged pop star, Rae has continued to seek out acting roles. She can be seen in the new Netflix series Monster: The Ed Gein Story, which is streaming as of today. Rae plays Evelyn Hartley, a 14-year-old whose mysterious disappearance in 1953 remains unsolved, and the series suggests that she was one of notorious serial killer Ed Gein’s (Charlie Hunnam) many victims.

According to director Eli Roth, Rae is also expected to return in a sequel to Thanksgiving.
