Production has wrapped on Artichoke, a giallo-inspired short film from executive producer Anna Lou Castoldi.
Castoldi is the granddaughter of giallo maestro Dario Argento (Suspiria, Deep Red, Tenebrae). She teams with director Amir Moini (Slashr) and stars Thomas Dekker (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles) and Alyson Gorske (Obliterated).
“I’m super excited to be a part of Artichoke because I think it’s very profound and creative,” executive producer Anna Lou Castoldi told Phantasmag. Castoldi, who is the granddaughter of giallo maestro Dario Argento (Suspiria), is also narrating the film. “I’m honoured to be a narrator for something that’s written so beautifully. I love the genre.”
The film follows Cynara (Gorske), a woman who discovers a phoropter that opens a portal to another dimension. Trapped in a violent relationship, Cynara must survive a terrifying cat-and-mouse chase as she faces a bloodthirsty nemesis (Dekker).
