The Insidious: Out of the Further trailer teases a grim return for the hit horror franchise.
The sixth Insidious film, Out of the Further sees the franchise’s demonic astral plane bleed into the real world. Amelia Eve (The Haunting of Bly Manor), Brandon Perea (Nope), and Maisie Richardson-Sellers (Nine Perfect Strangers) star, while franchise veteran Lin Shaye returns. It remains to be seen whether original stars Patrick Wilson and Rose Byrne will appear in some capacity.
Set to the eerie tune of Tiny Tim’s “Tiptoe Through the Tulips”, which played a key role in the original film, the uncanny trailer teases the return of the Lipstick-Face Demon, Doll Girl, and The Man Who Can’t Breathe.
Created by James Wan and Leigh Whannell, the duo behind Saw and Dead Silence, Insidious is one of the most successful horror franchises of all time, grossing more than $740 million from a combined budget of just over $40 million.
While Elise Rainier (Lin Shaye)— [spoiler alert] who dies at the end of the first instalment—returns, the film appears to be a sequel to 2023’s The Red Door, with Elise appearing as a spirit summoned by Maisie Richardson-Sellers’ character.
Insidious: Out of the Further releases August 21st in cinemas. Watch the trailer below.
