Neon has released the trailer for Leviticus.
The debut feature from Adrian Chiarella, Leviticus follows two teenage boys (Joe Bird and Stacy Clausen) in a deeply religious Australian town. After they’re subjected to a strange ritual, they find themselves stalked by a mysterious entity that takes the form of who they desire most: each other.
Teasing romance, small-town secrets, and a hint of body horror, the trailer promises a haunting horror film driven by a potent metaphor for queer shame. Mia Wasikowska returns to the genre after her roles in Crimson Peak and Piercing, along with Talk to Me breakout star Joe Bird.
Picked up by Neon after a buzzy run at Sundance, this is the latest horror movie from Causeway Films, the Australian studio behind indie darlings like Bring Her Back, Talk to Me, and The Babadook.
