A24 has released the second trailer for Mother Mary, along with the second song from the soundtrack album.

Billed as a psychosexual pop opera, Mother Mary follows a Lady Gaga-inspired singer (Anne Hathaway) as she reunites with her estranged best friend and former costume designer (Michaela Coel) on the stormy night before her comeback performance.

The new promo features “My Mouth Is Lonely For You”, written by FKA twigs, who has a role in the film. Michaela Coel, Hunter Schafer, and Kaia Gerber also star, while Charli xcx and Jack Antonoff contribute to the soundtrack.

The trailer teases screams, queer romance, wince-inducing body horror, and a rainy, candlelit night that will confront Anne Hathaway’s pop star with long-buried wounds. Director David Lowery (The Green Knight) cites Bram Stoker’s Dracula as an inspiration.

Mother Mary hits New York and LA theatres April 17th before a nationwide release in the US and UK on April 24th.
