Prime Video has unveiled the teaser for Carrie, the upcoming miniseries from Mike Flanagan.

Adapting Stephen King’s 1974 debut novel of the same name, Flanagan, who is known for horror television series like The Haunting of Hill House and The Fall of the House of Usher, reimagines the story through the lens of cyberbullying.

The teaser trailer highlights an Instagram account dedicated to bullying the titular character, while also hinting at the iconic prom scene and the havoc that ensues.

The Carrie miniseries stars Summer Howell in the titular role, with Samantha Sloyan (Midnight Mass) playing her mother and Matthew Lillard (Five Nights at Freddy’s) as the principal of Carrie’s high school.

Josie Totah (Faces of Death), Siena Agudong (Resident Evil), and Arthur Conti (Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma) feature as Carrie’s classmates, and Amber Midthunder (Prey) plays the gym teacher who takes pity on her. The series features several other frequent Flanagan collaborators in supporting roles, including Kate Siegel, Rahul Kohli, Ruth Codd, and Michael Trucco.

Carrie marks Mike Flanagan’s fourth Stephen King adaptation, following Gerald’s Game, Doctor Sleep, and The Life of Chuck. Carrie was famously adapted into a 1976 film starring Sissy Spacek and directed by Brian De Palma, which became a classic in its own right.

All eight episodes of the series will premiere on Prime Video on October 7th.
