After the success of Sinners and Nosferatu, another major vampire film is on the way.

Hunter Schafer has revealed that her upcoming star-packed A24 horror project, from The First Omen director Arkasha Stevenson and EP Ari Aster (Hereditary), is a vampire movie. “It might be my favourite thing I’ve ever filmed,” she told Reece Feldman at the Academy Museum Gala. “It is batshit crazy.”

The film, centred on a bachelor party that spirals out of control, also stars Josh Hutcherson (Five Nights at Freddy’s), Emma Corrin (Nosferatu), Havana Rose Liu (Her Private Hell), Sophie Wilde (Talk to Me), Fabien Frankel (House of the Dragon), Caleb Landry Jones (Dracula), Whitmer Thomas (Weapons ), Katelyn Rose Downey (The Nun II), Suzanna Son (Monster: The Ed Gein Story), and Emory Cohen (Marty Supreme).

“Me and my fellow actresses also got to act in sort of this basthit crazy way,” Schafer elaborated, explaining her enthusiasm for the project. “I wonder if I’m allowed to say [whether I play a vampire or not].”

The untitled A24 vampire film will mark the third horror feature for Hunter Schafer. The Euphoria actress previously led the atmospheric Euro-horror Cuckoo and co-starred in this year’s Gothic psychodrama Mother Mary opposite Anne Hathaway and Michaela Coel. She also led Nadia Lee Cohen’s giallo-esque short for Gentle Monster.

Stevenson, whose The Omen prequel The First Omen earned critical acclaim upon its release in 2024, is reteaming with writer Tim Smith. The film’s release can be expected as early as next year.
