The Yellowjackets have finally been rescued.

The official trailer for Yellowjackets Season 4 promises a carnage-filled finale to Showtime’s acclaimed queer horror series. The last 10 episodes see the stranded girls’ soccer team return home to Wiskayok after their fateful plane crash in the pilot, while the surviving members in the present timeline — Shauna (Melanie Lynskey), Taissa (Tawny Cypress), Misty (Christina Ricci), and Melissa (Hilary Swank) — must face a bloody final confrontation.

Highlights from the trailer include Natalie (Sophie Thatcher) being haunted by visions of the late Coach Ben (Steven Krueger), Lottie (Courtney Eaton) struggling with flashbacks of their time in the wilderness, and the reveal of a statue of Jackie (Ella Purnell) at Wiskayok High. In the 90s timeline, we also see the romances between Taissa (Jasmin Savoy Brown) and Van (Liv Hewson) and Natalie and Travis (Kevin Alves) develop.

As with the teaser released last month, the trailer is soundtracked by Alanis Morissette’s 1996 hit “Ironic”, which references a plane crash. Morissette previously contributed a cover of the series’ theme song “No Return” in Season 2.

A major reveal from the Yellowjackets Season 4 trailer is that Akilah (Nia Sondaya), whose fate looked uncertain in the Season 3 finale, is confirmed to have been rescued from the Canadian wilderness alongside her teammates, even though she has not yet appeared in the present-day timeline. Speaking with Phantasmag during the release of Season 3, Sondaya chose Tika Sumpter (Gossip Girl) and Deborah Ayorinde (Them) as her dream casting for an adult Akilah if it were to be revealed she were alive.

Yellowjackets is streaming on Paramount+ from November 20th, with episodes releasing weekly until January 22nd.
